Sandhurst team carries out restoration work on Balmoral Estate

A team from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst has helped carry out some restoration work on the Balmoral Estate.
In videos posted to social media platform X, several men and women can be seen carrying posts and pieces of wood up the side of a mountain with a lake behind them, to help protect the woodland.
On X, formerly Twitter, Balmoral Castle & Estate posted: "Thanks very much to the team from @RMASandhurst who helped us carry a load of fencing materials up the hill to maintain one of our native woodland restoration areas."

In one of the videos, the steepness of the slope and strong wind give an impression of a difficult climb in challenging weather while carrying a heavy load.
In another, people are seen carrying multiple pieces of wood over their shoulders.
The Balmoral Estate in Aberdeenshire is located within the Cairngorms National Park and is home to Balmoral Castle, a royal residence. The estate comprises numerous landscapes including mountains, valleys and rivers.
Personnel have been called on other occasions to assist with restorative or conservation work on land housing royal residences.
Earlier this month, Queen Camilla joined soldiers from the Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeth's Own) to plant trees on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
The regiment's Colonel-in-Chief helped shovel the first soil onto the oak saplings.
