RAF Cosford Launches Annual Air Show
RAF Cosford has been showcasing the best of what’s to come at this year’s air show.
The RAF’s only annual air show will return to Cosford airfield, near Birmingham, on the 10 June and this year it will be playing a major role in the RAF’s 100th-anniversary celebrations.

Flight Lieutenant Stuart Kynaston, of the Chinook Display Team, said: “To be selected as part of the display crew any year is absolutely amazing but for me doing it in this centenary year is the absolute pinnacle.
“It’s a really exciting year to be involved, we’ve got more shows than most seasons."
"There’s a lot more interest in the RAF this year and it’s going to be really, really good.”

A variety of aircraft, spanning the 100-year history of the Royal Air Force, will be showcased in the flying display and in Cosford’s special RAF100 static exhibition.
The Royal Air Force’s Red Arrows and Falcons Parachute Display Team will be performing along with a host of aircraft including a Chinook, Tornado and Typhoon.
The Belgian, Pakistan, Royal Netherlands and Polish Air Forces and Polish Navy have also confirmed they will be displaying aircraft.

Group Captain Tone Baker, RAF Cosford Station Commander, said: “It’s exceptionally important particularly not just locally but nationally, to put on display the Air Force and all of its efforts and attributes of what it has to offer.
“The fact that it draws in so many people not just from Shropshire but from across the country I think is real testament to how important this air show really is.”
More than 60,000 people usually visit the show, which aims to inspire young people to join the RAF.
As this year’s event coincides with the 100th anniversary, the RAF hopes even more people will attend.
