RAF Jets Forced To Make Emergency Landing

RAF Typhoons

Two RAF Typhoon jets were forced to land at Liverpool John Lennon airport early this morning.

The jets were heading back to base at Lossiemouth but were forced to land in the North West for "urgent refuelling" at around 1am.

It is reported that the Typhoons were on routine operations but bad weather forced them to divert.

The tweet prompted a flurry of complaints from residents about the noise of the jets.

One user, Demi Leigh, was interrupted during a rather important task...

They even caused Paula Rogers' pug to have a little accident.

The two typhoons could be seen on flight tracker radars heading towards Liverpool.

In a statement, a Royal Air Force spokesman said:

“We can confirm that two Typhoons conducted a practise diversion landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport last night.

"The aircraft were on a routine night flying training sortie and recovered directly to RAF Lossiemouth after refuelling.”
