Troops Begin 270-Mile Walk In Memory Of Fellow Soldier

A group of soldiers from the Yorkshire Regiment have begun a 270-mile walk to raise awareness of troops experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder.

'Walk for Reece' is in memory of Private Reece Miller, who died from a "non-battle injury" while serving in Estonia earlier this year.

His friends and colleagues left in the early hours of Wednesday morning and will spend the next seven days walking from the Infantry Training Centre in Catterick to Warminster.

Their journey will cover the site where Reece learnt to become a soldier, to the last base where he served.

They will cover 30 to 40 miles per day, carrying more than 15 kilograms each.

The walk will finish on World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

The troops also hope to raise funds for the charity 'PTSD Resolution'.

Anyone wish to donate can do on the team's Just Giving page.
