The centre, also known as Chavasse VC House, is a place where wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans can come and get support and help in getting their lives back on track.
It is named after British Medical Doctor Captain Noel Chavasse, the only man to be awarded the Victoria Cross twice during the First World War.
Nearly 100 years ago, on the 31st of July 1917 he was wounded by a shell whilst treating the injured during the offensive at Passchendaele in Belgium.
Its facilities include an adaptive gym, a tranquil garden, a psychological well-being suite, rooms to relax in and accommodation, with specially trained staff on hand to help.
Chavasse VC House encourages those they help to lead active, independent and fulfilling lives as well as supporting their loved ones.
There are three other Help for Heroes Recovery Centres across the UK, Phoenix House in Catterick, Plymouth Recovery Centre and Tedworth House in Tidworth.
