WATCH: Navy Divers Detonate 1000kg German Bomb

Royal Navy bomb disposal experts have detonated a 6ft long, 1000kg Second World War bomb/mine found in West Sussex.

The historic German air-dropped ordnance was found on Elmer Sands beach near Bognor Regis.

Royal Navy divers from the Portsmouth-based Southern Diving Unit 2, who are trained bomb disposal experts, were called to the scene were called out after a member of the public found the partially submerged device on Saturday.

The divers towed it away from the beach using the inflatable equipment pictured below (in yellow) and safely placed it onto the seabed where it was destroyed.
