Barack Obama to Send 300 Military Advisers to Iraq
Barack Obama is to send 300 U.S. military advisers to Iraq in an effort to quell the rising insurgency. The White House has also put political pressure on the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki to avoid sectarianism.
Iraqi forces are currently fighting with Sunni militants for control of the country's largest oil refinery. President Obama has not approved U.S. air strikes in the country yet despite being asked to carry them out by the Iraqi government.
