A Bigger Middle East Role for the British Armed Forces?

The British military could be considering setting up, or expanding, strategic bases in the Middle East, to help to contain the threat posed by Islamic State militants.
 
Some newspapers are reporting that an enhanced presence in the region would enable the armed forces to train more regularly with friendly militaries there, as part of a long-term plan for stabilisation.
