Ceramic Poppies Planted at the Tower Of London

The longest serving Yeoman Warder began the installation of hundreds of thousands of ceramic poppies in the moat at the Tower of London.

The installation entitled ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’ and designed by ceramic artist Paul Cummins will be installed by volunteers throughout the summer.

The poppies will be installed by a team of over 8,000 volunteers from across the UK and the last poppy will be planted on Armistice Day, 11 November 2014.
