Concerns Over School Places for Forces Children

As the drawdown of British troops in Germany gathers pace, a big concern for military families is the shortage of school places in the UK and uncertainty about where their children will be educated.

For the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards who move from Fallingbostel to Leuchars on the Scottish east coast next year some of the fears are being allayed thanks to a joint venture with Fife Council.

Fife education officials now have regular contact with schools like Heide Primary in Fallingbostel and have even been to Germany to meet children and parents.
