Defence Taking Spotlight at Conservative Conference

The Defence Secretary has told the Conservative Party conference “this is no time” to be lowering Britain's defence spending.

Michael Fallon said he “wanted” to carry on meeting NATO's target of 2% of national income being spent on defence.

However, David Cameron also told the conference there would be billions of pounds more cut from public spending if he is re-elected as Prime Minister.

So can the promises and ambitions match up?
