Government Challenged Over Visas For Afghan Interpreters

The government has been challenged on how long it is taking to process visa applications from Afghan interpreters, working with British Forces, who want to move to the UK.

In the House of Lords a defence minister insisted the Home Office has the resources it needs to get the applications processed in time.

But he faced questions about why only two Visas have been issued - despite it being more than a year since a scheme was announced to allow 600 Afghan conctractors to settle in the UK.
