More Jobs Lost in Final Round of Armed Forces Redundancies
The MOD has announced another 1000 redundancies from the Armed Forces.
It's the fourth and final round of cuts as part of the Government's strategic defence review; and it will bring to just over 12,000 the number of people made redundant since 2011.
The figures released today show the total of one thousand and sixty redundancies is almost 500 down on what had been predicted in January. The Army has overwhelmingly been the hardest hit.
Of the Army total of 995 redundancies, 730 or 73% were volunteers and 270 or 27% are being made compulsorily redundant.
