Remembering the British Troops Sent to War 100 Years Ago

100 years ago the order was signed to send British troops to fight on the Western Front in the First World War. 180,000 men and 100,000 horses were the first to go. In London 85 Poppy wreaths (one for each unit sent to war) travelled from Knightsbridge Barracks to Wellington Barracks. Charlotte Cross was there.
