Residents Fight to Save Fenton WWI Memorial
A war memorial in Stoke-on-Trent is at risk of destruction or neglect, but local residents are fighting for its future.
A plaque with the names of the 498 Fenton residents who died in the First World War is built into the wall of Fenton Town Hall, which is up for sale to private buyers - and the plaque cannot be moved.
Current owners the Ministry of Justice say the memorial will be preserved, whoever buys the building - campaigners say the risk is to the memorial is too great.
