Triple Medal Haul for GB Invictus Archers

The British team have won all three medals in the Invictus Games Recurve Archery competition. David Hubber won gold with Gary Prout winning Silver and Steven Gill winning Bronze. 

More than 300 members of the Armed Services are on duty at the inaugural Invictus Games, an international multi sport event for Wounded, Injured and Sick service personnel and veterans, which is being held at iconic London venues this week including the Lee Valley Athletic Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Taking place between 10 and 14 Sep 2014, the Invictus Games was launched by Prince Harry earlier this year to use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation of wounded service personnel and generate a wider understanding and respect of those who serve their country.  Teams of wounded service men and women have come together to compete from Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Georgia, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. With nine sports on offer, and gold, silver and bronze medals to aim for, the Invictus Games is an action packed four day event and an inspiration for all. 

Whether behind the scenes supporting athletes and their families from all the 13 competing nations, or front of house at the sporting venues, uniformed service men and women are working as stewards, performed in a thrilling Opening Ceremony, are assisting with medal ceremonies, and in delivering musical support throughout the Games and at the Closing Ceremony's climactic concert.

For many of them the Games has a special resonance as many know and have served with several of the British athletes taking part.
