Vacuum Cleaning Smart Plants Help Mop Up Leftover Ordnance

Every round fired to every explosive detonated on training creates toxins that can leach into soil and play havoc with the environment. Some areas in America have had to resort to using bottled water only as the water supply is to polluted by toxins from Ordnance.

Hannah King finds out more about research at the University of York that may provide a solution; a genetically modified plant that would neutralise the toxins in the soil.
