The Engineers Keeping 539 Assault Squadron Ticking

The Scottish lochs and canals have been the location for a two week exercise for 539 Assault Squadron Royal Marines.

Exercise Raging Torrent might be led by the Royal Marines of 539 assault squadron, it's a team of Naval Engineers keeping the men and their boats in the water.

For the engineers there are no home comforts, they're living and working in the same field conditions as their green beret colleagues.

Chief Petty Officer Luke Jones talked about some of the challenges:
"It's a bit of an eye-opener really, mainly just getting used to living in the field and not being able to shower for a little while and living off packs"
