Foo Fighting For Royal Navy Rock Band

Until recently the Black Leaves Of Envy were a relatively unknown band fighting a council imposed noise restriction after complaints from the neighbours.

Like any proud father, Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander Andy Plenty wanted to support his teenage son and daughter's superstar dreams by letting them practise in the garage.

Now Black Leaves Of Envy have made international headlines thanks to Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl writing a letter to Cornwall council offering his support.

Dave Grohl wrote:
“I'm writing on behalf of local band Black Leaves Of Envy. For musicians that lack the resources to rehearse in professional facilities, a garage or basement is the only place they have to develop their talent and passion. For the sake of your local band and for generations of young musicians that they may eventually inspire, I ask you reconsider the restrictions.”
In a statement the council said:
“The council is legally required to investigate once it has received a complaint about noise. We have not told the band to stop playing but however have advised that sound levels are currently too high. We have suggested they could install some sound proofing into the garage to address the problem or possibly compromise by looking at playing only at certain times."
