Introducing: S Squadron Of 43 Commando

S Squadron are a sub Unit of 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group Royal Marines and provide force elements to the Royal Navy which specialise in Maritime Interdiction Operations and Contingent tasks. 
 
The Group's core task is to provide military support to undertake final denial of access to nuclear weapons in addition to supporting the multi-agency force that protects nuclear weapons convoys.
 
Royal Marines have deployed from S Sqn to RN Frigates, Destroyers, Amphibious platforms and RFA vessels for ten years and these teams operate predominantly on counter narcotics, counter piracy and embargo operations worldwide. 
 
 
S Squadron uses a range of assets and weapons systems in order to support their task which include:
 
  • RN Merlin and Lynx helicopters
  • Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats - RHIBs
  • Offshore Raiding Craft - ORC
  • Weapon Systems
  • Glock pistol
  • H&K MP5 sub machine gun
  • Remington Shotgun
  • Colt C8 Rifle
  • Light Machine Gun - LMG
  • General Purpose Machine Gun - GMPG
  • Several different Sniper systems
