Euronaval 2016 is focused solely on naval technology, a deliberate choice by the show's organisers to give it more focus.

The show runs until October 21st and is supported by the French MoD and Navy.

Its sister event is the DSEI exhibition (Defence and Security Equipment International) held every other year in London Docklands.

The exhibition in Paris is important for the French because they are hosting it; though the billion dollar ships and submarines on display also make it important for other countries as well.

One company displaying technology there is Saab, which has been showcasing a kind of anti-ship missile with land-attack capabilities.

The missile is designed to fly low to avoid detection until the latest possible moment.

It is also designed to maintain peak performance in all weather conditions.
