Normandy Vets Visit Sole Surviving British Landing Craft From D-Day

The last landing craft from the Second World War has been visited by Normandy veterans a year after she was saved for the nation by Portsmouth’s National Museum of the Royal Navy.

She was raised from Birkenhead Docks last year. Below is timelapse footage from the spectacular event last year:

 

D-day veterans were welcomed into a ship hall at HM Naval Base in Portsmouth for an opportunity to see the LCT 7074, the last tank-carrying Second World War landing craft in the UK and one of the last in the world.
