Passing Out Of Parris Island

It's been 13 tough weeks, and now those who have made it through boot camp on Parris Island get to graduate.

But they can't relax just yet.

They first need to pledge allegiance to their country and its new President, Donald Trump.

Marine Chelsea Villela summed up her feelings:

"I feel very excited for the future... I'm really proud of myself... I'm going to miss people in my platoon".

Officially now United States Marines, all of them will be leaving Parris Island for the first time since they were bussed in during the night three months ago.

It's certainly something their friends and family are excited about, and for now the marines have a two-week break in which to catch up with loved ones.

Next, the marines will move on to the next phase of their training at Camp Lejeune, where for the first time women will have the option to go on to any role within the forces.
