Peak Training: Royal Marines Mountain Leaders

The role of Mountain Leader is among the most coveted within the ranks of the Royal Marines.

And the training course to become one is one of the toughest.

From the cliffs of Cornwall at Bosigran, 12 troops are vying for the role.

Known as the ML Two's course, the nine-month assessment sees the Corps look for its future mountain and cold-weather warfare experts.

And for the first time, they're facing competitors from abroad: two troops from the Norweigen Army are participating.

It's a result of the close connection between the UK and Norway following years of arctic training by the Marines in the Scandinavian country.
