Royal Marines Remember Liberation of Port-en-Bessin
The Royal Marines have held memorial services in the port town they liberated from the Germans to set up a key supply line in the days following D-Day.
Port-en-Bessin became the station for Allied troops to receive fuel delivered by the pipeline under the ocean.
Marines from 40 Commando joined veterans there to pay tribute to those killed in the action. Julie Knox has been speaking exclusively to the Commandant General Royal Marines, Major General Ed Davis, about the experience of being in France on such an occasion.
