Royal Navy and Marines take on joint training in Montenegro's mountains

Royal Marines and Royal Navy personnel have undertaken joint training in Montenegro, helping train personnel from one of Nato's youngest members.

The UK's Littoral Response Group headed to the country as part of Operation Achillean, led by HMS Albion.

Marines from Zulu Strike Company, 45 Commando, and landing forces carry out integration training, survival and evasion techniques, covering anti-armour and close quarter battle tactics.

It then saw personnel take on a number of tactical scenarios, including insertions from helicopters deep into the mountains, tracking enemy forces and a series of ambushes practiced during the day and at night.
