Understated Wheel Will Steer HMS Queen Elizabeth
The original wheel of HMS Victory now contained in the Portsmouth Dockyard museum During heavy weather it took at least four men to control this wheel .

The Royal Navy has taken a photo of the new wheel for the future flagship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, a 65,000 ton displacement aircraft carrier, and you'd be forgiven for raising an eyebrow at it's understated appearance.

A far-cry from the majestic wooden or brass wheels that controlled the rudder movements from a by-gone era, the new wheel flaunts a minimalist design.
