Battle Of Britain Flypast Cancelled After Shoreham Air Disaster

A unique Battle of Britain flypast over London has been cancelled in the wake of the Shoreham air disaster.

The organisers were told insurance costs had spiralled following the accident, which made it too expensive to hold.

The cost had risen from £5 million of third party cover to £250 million.

Initial findings by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) revealed that the Hawker Hunter jet which crashed at the Shoreham Airshow "appeared to be responding to the pilot's control inputs".

AAIB added that the footage from the cockpit revealed no "abnormal indications" during the flight.

The crash investigation is still ongoing.
