Civilians On The Picket Line In Cyprus

Hundreds of civilian staff at British military bases in Cyprus have been on strike over a pay row. 
 
The Sovereign Base Areas have already made millions of pounds in cuts.
 
Now officials say they need to cut salaries too.
 
The pay cuts apply to those earning more than €1500 gross per month
Around 1,300 Locally Employed Civilians, known as LEC's, work on the British bases in Cyprus.
 
They range from labourers to some teachers and civil servants.
 
Around a third are believed to have gone on strike today.
