Fighter Jet Makes Emergency Landing

A fighter jet has been forced to make an emergency landing at Brize Norton.
The United States Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle had taken off from RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk this morning.

A second F-15 reportedly helped it land at the base.
A USAF spokesperson said:
"The jet was on its way West and there was a hydraulic emergency so they were able to divert to RAF Brize Norton. This is just another great example of how our proximity to other local bases is helpful ensuring we stay forward, ready and ready now."
The F-15E was developed in the 1980s for long-range deep air support and has been deployed in numerous arenas including Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya.
