German Letter to Lifesaving British Airman to Be Auctioned

Captain Gerald Gibbs, a First World War Airman, successfully shot down a German plane over Macedonia. The two German Airmen survived and Captain Gibbs took their surrender. He treated them well and even treated them to lunch in the Mess. The two Germans repaid his kindness by writing him a letter shortly afterwards. It's now going up for auction in London. Victoria Smith spoke to military auction expert David Erskine Hill about the sale.
