Iconic Spitfire To Emerge From The Ground

An iconic Spitfire which crashed in Cambridgeshire while on a training mission during the Second World War, is being dug up by archaeologists.

The Rhodesian Squadron Royal Air Force plane went down at Holme in November 1940.

The pilot's body was recovered after the crash.

It is hoped that once it's recovered, the Spitfire or whatever remains of it, will be put on display to the public.

Kate Wathall went to see the work so far.
