Music And Drills Extravaganza For Air Cadet Anniversary
A week of camps across the country culminated in a musical and drills extravaganza at RAF Cranwell to celebrate 75 years of the Air Cadets.
Hundreds of cadets from Squadrons across the country worked long and hard to prepare for the parade at the home of the RAF.
They were there to represent an organisation older than many of their grandparents.
The organisation was formed in the late 1930s to encourage young people to take up a career in the RAF, or the Royal Navy’s Fleet Air Arm, and to encourage a passion for aviation.
By the end of the Second World War more than 100,000 Air Cadets had signed up.
The numbers are still strong today with more than 900 Squadrons across the UK.
