National Security Review: RAF On Speed-Dial?

The acting Labour Leader, Harriet Harman, has joined top-level talks in Downing Street on Britain’s part in the fight against the so-called Islamic State.
 
A Labour delegation was invited to the National Security Council meeting as the government considers extending UK airstrikes to Syria.
 
Currently Tornados, flying from RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, are only dropping bombs and missiles on IS - also known as Isil - sites in Iraq. 
 
 
Defence Secretary Michael Fallon feels it is "illogical", however, that UK planes are able to hit the extremists in that country but not target their bases across the border.
