No Cold Feet For New RAF Snowboarding President

The RAF snowboarders have been up to their old tricks, as training gets underway for the winter season.

Over 60 riders from across the Air Force gathered on the indoor slopes.

All abilities were welcome, and amongst those getting lessons was the new president, Air Vice-Marshal Gavin Parker:
"I've skied a reasonable amount but not a great deal... I've sort of caught the [snowboarding] bug. I hope it's not too late to learn properly... as always, it's a small but determined band who've put a lot of time and effort into things, and, I think can take a great deal of satisfaction in what they've achieved, and the extent to which the success now seems to be self-perpetuating."

AVM Parker says that the goal of the RAF team should now be to win the Combined Services Snowboarding Championship.

First, however, the RAF will head to the single service championships - before Meribel in the New Year.
