Op Shader: RAF Reapers Hit ISIL Targets In Iraq

It will soon be the anniversary of the first Royal Air Force airstrikes against the so-called Islamic State in Iraq, launched from Cyprus.

Daily missions continue with Tornados flying daily armed reconnaissance missions, using their surveillance pods to watch for ISIL targets and then launch airstrikes.

In the past week GR4s have used their Brimstone missiles to destroy two excavators which were building fortified defences against Kurdish Peshmerga near Iraq’s second city Mosul.

The RAF’s remotely operated Reapers have also been heavily involved in attacking ISIL.

From Cyprus Simon Newton has the latest on Operation Shader.
