Royal Air Force delivers 11 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza in its seventh airdrop

The Royal Air Force has delivered the UK's seventh airdrop of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
More than 11 tonnes of aid was airdropped by the RAF into the country – its last aid drop was earlier in April.
In a post on X, the Ministry of Defence said the UK is continuing "to work with allies to speed up deliveries of aid by land, sea and air to the people of Gaza".
It comes after the UK's last aid drop earlier this month, which saw hundreds of tonnes of aid dropped in a multi-national operation led by the Jordanian armed forces.
In total, that mission saw nine militaries work together and was the RAF's sixth airdrop into Gaza – coinciding with Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
It was also announced at the beginning of April that a Royal Navy ship was set to be deployed to the region to help get more aid into Gaza.
Alongside the military vessel, which was not being named for operational security reasons, the Government announced a £9.7m package for aid deliveries, logistical expertise and equipment support for a humanitarian corridor in the eastern Mediterranean.
At the time, the Foreign Secretary warned that the "prospect of famine is real" in Gaza.
Lord Cameron said the UK and its allies needed to explore all options including sea and air deliveries to "ease the desperate plight of some of the world's most vulnerable people".
