RAF Detonates WWII Bomb Found At Base

An unexploded Second World War bomb has been detonated after being discovered at RAF Honington.
Bomb disposal experts from RAF Wittering disposed of the device - reported to have been a 25lb practice bomb.
It's said to have been discovered in an airfield at the Suffolk air base, by workers laying new pipes.
An RAF spokesperson told Forces News:
"A WW2 practice bomb was discovered at RAF Honington today, RAF bomb disposal experts from RAF Wittering attended and safely detonated the bomb."
An evacuation was reportedly no necessary due to the bomb not being found near a public area.
