RAF Don't Disappoint In Crucial Clash

The last set of pool games at the International Defence Rugby Competition is now underway, with the RAF needing a win to grab second place in their pool.

Pool C has proved to be the tightest of the three, with the Royal Air Force, South Africa and Tonga all vying for a place in the last eight.

Tonga could guarantee their place with a win over Georgia, whilst the RAF needed to beat South Africa in order to qualify as runners-up.

And they didn't disappoint - beating the Springboks with a dominant performance.

But it wasn't such a good day for the British Army, who tasted defeat for the first time ever in the competition.

It came at the hands of France, who did their talking on the pitch after coming close to being expelled from the tournament earlier in the week for requesting to rest rather than play the Brits.

The Royal Navy, meanwhile, ended their pool campaign on a high with a 64-11 win over Japan.

But after losses to New Zealand and Fiji they'll now fight for glory in the Plate competition with Japan, Canada and Georgia.
