RAF Veterans Not Seeking Help For Psychological Difficulties
Depression, loneliness, relationship troubles and bereavement - these are the issues that a significant number of RAF veterans are struggling with, according to a new report.
The RAF Benevolent Fund says of those surveyed - both young and old:
- 92 percent of veterans with psychological difficulties didn't seek help
- 205,000 veterans said they struggled to care properly for themselves
- 170,000 have to cope with relationship and isolation issues
- 195,000 say they struggle with mobility
The RAF Benevolent Fund says only 8% of those affected are seeking help.
The charity is launching two new services.
Its Director of Welfare and Policy, Air Cdre Paul Hughesdon, has been speaking to Kaija Larke.
