Red Arrows Jet Suffers Bird Strike

A Red Arrows jet has been forced to make an unscheduled stop at Cardiff Airport due to a bird strike.
Red 5 pilot Flight Lieutenant Emmet Cox, a 37-year-old with two years' experience with the team, was unhurt after the strike on Bank Holiday Monday.
Cox was one of the nine-member team of BAE Hawk jets that had been flying over the long weekend.
According to the Red Arrows' Twitter feed, the other jets went back to RAF Scampton, with Cox's diverted as a precaution.
End of a v busy weekend. Jets returned to Scampton, apart from one which diverted to Cardiff as a precaution after a bird strike. Crew okay.
