The Sopwith Pup: One-Of-A-Kind WWI Night Fighter Goes On Show

A one-of-a-kind First World War aircraft has gone on display near Bristol.

The Sopwith Pup B1807 night fighter is open to the public until the end of the month.

The single-seater biplane was a big hit at the time of its introduction, due to its pleasant flying characteristics and good manoeuvrability.

It eventually became outdated by newer models, however, and was moved from the Western Front back to Home Defence and training duties, with its docile flying characteristics making it ideal for use in aircraft carrier deck landing and takeoff experiments.

Forces TV's Kate Wathall went to take a closer look at this rare piece of aviation history.
