Stunning footage shows F-35s and Typhoons take to the skies over wintry Lake District
Stunning footage shows USAF F-35A Lightning IIs and RAF Typhoon jets slicing through the crisp air above the Lake District's snow-covered valleys and peaks.
The breathtaking scene captures two of the world's most advanced fighter aircraft against the backdrop of one of the UK's most iconic landscapes.
The USAF F-35A featured in the footage is from the 48th Fighter Wing, based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

The 48th Fighter Wing, also known as the Liberty Wing, consists of more than 4,000 military members, and more than 1,500 British and US civilians.
RAF Lakenheath, located 70 miles northeast of London is the largest US Air Force-operated base in England and the only US Air Forces in Europe F-35/F-15 fighter wing.
The F-35A is the US Air Force's latest fifth-generation fighter set to replace the US Air Force's ageing fleet of F-16 Fighting Falcons and A-10 Thunderbolt IIs.
The RAF Typhoon, meanwhile, is a battle-proven multirole fighter designed for air-to-air combat and ground attack missions.
Powered by twin engines, it combines speed, versatility, and raw power, making it a vital component of the UK's quick reaction alert (QRA) force.
British F-35Bs were also pictured flying over the wintry terrain.
The Lake District's rugged terrain and challenging conditions create the perfect skies for training low-level flying, honing piloting skills in navigating the narrow valleys at high speed.
