The national Armed Forces Day event this year is taking place in the traditional seaside town of Cleethorpes with it's golden beaches and charming lakeside.

Forces TV will have live coverage from Cleethorpes online on television as well as complete coverage throughout the day on BFBS radio.

You can watch the official parade of serving soldiers, veterans and cadets marching through the town live on our Facebook page starting 12:30pm UK time.

There will be spectacular displays from the daring RAF Red Arrows as well the Red Devils Parachute Display team.

By the picturesque boating lake you can watch the dazzling RAC band perform alongside the Air Cadets band with graceful choral performances from the Military Wives Choir as well as the All for One Choir.

The coastside in the town will feature a dramatic beach assault from 11:00am  and a glorious fast jet fly past after the parade.

More than 40 thousand people call Cleethorpes home which is on the estuary of the river Humber.

Three-million people visit the seaside resort which has thrived since Victorian times.

From Folly Ross Castle affectionately known as ‘Meggies’ by locals to recently refurbished award winning pier the town is set to be the perfect setting for Armed Forces Day 2016.

Tim Cooper has been finding out what makes Cleethorpes the perfect home for this great day.

The team organising the event are volunteers with ex-service backgrounds and military service who have been working hard to make the day truly special for the forces and civilians alike.

Friday saw a frantic day in Cleethorpes with organisers putting up tents, moving vehicles and rehearsing for the big event.

Our reporter Hannah King has been there chatting to some of those who'll be manning the stands.

Armed Forces Day 2016 is set to be a truly special celebration of those who are serving and have currently served Britain.
