Tri-Service
Army Victorious At Lord's In Inter Services T20
The Army have emerged victorious at the 2015 Inter Services Twenty20, at Lord's Cricket Ground in central London.
They beat the RAF by four wickets in the final match of the day, after the Air Force set them 119 to win.
It's the eighth successive year services cricket has been hosted by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lord’s, and the sixth year running for the Inter Services Twenty20 Tournament.
The Army were looking to retain their crown, having won the triangular competition with the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force in 2013 and 2014.
And they made a great start, beating the Navy by seven wickets in the first fixture of the day. They put them under pressure from the off, putting them in to bat after winning the toss and then securing a number of early wickets. The Navy finished all out on 104.
Next up for the Navy was the RAF - but sadly for the dark blues, things didn't get a whole lot better. The RAF produced an imperious performance, finishing on 212-8. Despite finishing with a respectable score of 148-8, in the end, it just wasn't the Navy's day.
And so it was all set up for a mouthwatering winner-takes-all match between the Army and the RAF.
And the rest, as they say, is history...
