Black Hawk Drowned: Machine Fills Hangar With Foam In 2 Minutes

The Oklahoma Air National Guard has tested a new fire foam suppression system that was installed in three of their aircraft maintenance facilities.

The two year, nearly four million dollar project, can fill the largest maintenance hangar in approximately two and a half minutes, which will allow the foam to engulf an entire F-16 Fighting Falcon.

The test ran for approximately two and a half minutes creating over six feet of foam which covered the entire hangar floor, 68,000 square feet.

The video also shows news reports from an incident at the same airbase last year when Black Hawk helicopters were inundated with foam after a false fire alarm triggered the wet response.
