Brian Blessed's Flash Gordon Secret & Special Message To The Forces
The actor and RAF veteran has joined the ‘Walking home for Christmas’ campaign to support veterans who don’t have a home to walk to.
Brian Blessed said "I am honoured to be a brother-in-arms with these men and women. No-one who has served their country should be without a home, or at risk of being homeless.”
Blessed added “I'm very happy to loudly shout for those who need these valuable services to give them hope, new opportunities, and ultimately a home where their hearts can lie."
Mr. Blessed served with 2 Squadron, RAF Regiment as a parachutist during his National Service.
The Walking Home for Christmas campaign runs each year. In 2014, 500 walkers walked 5,000 miles and raised £100,000.
Andrew Cook, Director of Fundraising at Walking With The Wounded, said "Many veterans we help, including those at Riverside's schemes, have walked in far worse and more dangerous environments than we might care to imagine."
"The aim of this year's Walking Home For Christmas initiative is to raise £250,000. This will enable us to deliver five new homeless programmes across the UK ensuring beneficiaries are not precluded from gaining employment and financial security through a lack of housing."
