Family Need 100K To Bring Former Soldier Home After Crash

A fundraiser has been launched to raise £100,000 after a former Welsh Guard crashed his motorbike in Thailand.
Adam Hobbs is in a critical condition after crashing his motorbike while on holiday in Koh Samui.
Family friend Dawn Matthews set up a Just Giving fundraising page after the family was informed of the costs to transport Adam, 28, back to the UK.
Adam from Roath, Cardiff served nine years with the Welsh Guards, including Operation Herrick 10 in 2009. He was medically discharged from the Army in 2014.
Regimental Casualties Office for The Welsh Guards Jiffy Myers told Forces TV:
"Adam recently travelled to Thailand for a holiday and whilst out there, met a girl with similar interests. This love at first sight relationship caused Adam to decide to stay longer than initially planned. Due to this, his travel insurance lapsed. The Welsh Guards and Army Benevolent Fund have sent a large grant to the Royal British Legion, who have a representative on the ground, assisting them. The best chance Adam has for a recovery is to be medically evacuated back to the UK."
Friend Hayley Fensome said on the Bring Adam Home Facebook Page said:
"He was a great soldier who inspired many and kept the moral going when people were down... I was in the Army at the time of meeting Adam and I looked up to him. He inspired me so much."
Adam is now in critical condition and without travel insurance which ran out just before his crashed.
Estimates for the cost of medical fees originally came in at £10,000 pounds although they quickly escalated to ten times that amount.
