Germany Commemorates RAF's WWII Dambusters Raid

In a remarkable act of reconciliation, Germans have gathered to honour a daring Second World War bombing raid against them.
 
72 years ago the Royal Air Force’s No. 617 Squadron launched air raids to destroy dams deep inside Nazi Germany and flood the country’s industrial heartland.
 
The 19 Lancaster bomber crews became known as the Dambusters.
