Horsing Around In The Armed Forces

Zabor, Tango, Toby and Red are four of the 20-odd horses at the Royal Navy and Royal Marines' last remaining stables.

And being the last one, the staff and naval affiliates are working hard ready for a relaunch in November.

The stables are onsite at the home of 42 Commando Royal Marines, Bickleigh Barracks, in close reach of Dartmoor.

Being outside of the city, it's tucked away and out of sight, perhaps one of the reasons it's not so well known among the forces community.

But the stables are open to all within the military family - be it serving personnel, their dependents, or veterans.

That's why they will hold a remembrance event next month to relaunch themselves and raise their profile, as well as honouring the 8,000,000 horses killed in the First World War.
